Bible Interpretation (BI 101)

This course explores the subject of how to interpret the Bible. It involves a study of hermeneutics or the principles of sound interpretation with special focus on culture, grammar, literary genres, figures of speech, parables, and prophecies.

Spiritual Gifts (BI 102)

This course explores the subject of spiritual gifts with an emphasis on what the Bible teaches about the gifts in general and each one in particular. It includes a discussion of several approaches to classifying the gifts and distinguishing between them. Special attention is given to the issue of whether some gifts have already ceased. The course concludes with a focus on discovering and developing one’s spiritual gift.

Decision Making (BI 103)

This course explores the subject of how to make decisions according to the Bible with an emphasis on understanding God’s will. It includes a study of the different aspects of God’s will and the difficulties with seeking God’s will. Special attention is given to the importance of Scripture and wisdom for making decisions. This course concludes with a focus on major decisions in various areas of life.

Marriage and Family (BI 104)

This course explores the subjects of marriage and the family. It includes a survey of passages in both the Old and New Testaments on these two subjects. Special attention is given to more specific topics like divorce, remarriage, parenting, singleness, and homosexuality.
